Golden Ears Bridge Crash Today: Authorities Respond to Multi-Vehicle Accident Amid Major Delays

Empire Mall Shooting Today: Police Respond to Reported Shooting at Sioux Falls Shopping Center

Motorists traveling across the Golden Ears Bridge experienced significant delays after multiple traffic incidents disrupted both northbound and southbound travel on the busy crossing, prompting an emergency response and heavy congestion throughout the area.

According to reports from motorists at the scene, a multi-vehicle collision involving at least three vehicles occurred in the northbound lanes of the bridge. The crash reportedly blocked two lanes, with damaged vehicles coming to rest in the right lane and adjacent traffic lane. Emergency crews quickly responded to the scene to assess the situation, assist those involved, and begin clearing the roadway.

The lane closures created lengthy traffic backups as drivers were forced to merge into the remaining open lane. Commuters reported stop-and-go traffic and extended travel times while emergency personnel worked to safely manage the incident and restore normal traffic flow.

Adding to the congestion, a separate traffic incident occurred on the southbound side of the bridge. Witnesses reported a minor two-vehicle fender-bender in the left lane, while a semi-truck was stopped in the right lane, further restricting traffic. Although the southbound collision appeared less severe, the combined impact of both incidents significantly affected motorists traveling in both directions.

As of now, authorities have not released official information regarding the number of people involved or whether any injuries were sustained in the northbound crash. Emergency responders remained on scene to provide assistance, direct traffic, and ensure the safety of everyone traveling through the affected area. Investigators have also not announced what may have caused the collision.

Transportation officials are encouraging drivers to seek alternate routes whenever possible and to expect delays until all vehicles have been removed and the roadway has been fully reopened. Even after lanes reopen, congestion may continue for some time as backed-up traffic gradually clears.

Officials are also reminding motorists to exercise caution when approaching emergency scenes by reducing speed, maintaining a safe following distance, and remaining attentive to changing traffic conditions. Safe driving practices are especially important on heavily traveled bridges, where lane restrictions can quickly lead to significant traffic backups.

Authorities continue to monitor the situation and are expected to provide additional updates as more information becomes available. Drivers planning to use the Golden Ears Bridge are advised to check current traffic conditions before traveling and allow extra time for their journey while response crews complete their work.

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the northbound collision remains ongoing.
